The All Blacks just had too much firepower for the springboks. With the tri-nations in the bag
New-Zealand, went to South Africa to win. South Africa who failed to impress the entire tri-nations had to once again settle for second best! A game of rugby with no control what so ever by the match official, which saw several red card able offenses turn into nothing was what set the tone for a very “dirty†match. New-Zealand simply capitalized on the springboks bad defense and lack of any initiative and score time after time, by only running the open channels, which were caused by the springboks “Rush Defense†(or more accurately “Lack of defenseâ€) . Only when replacement fly half, Andre Pretorius, came on was there a positive twist to the way the Boks played, but it was too little too late!
The Boks take on the All Blacks again next week. Lets hope for a positive constructive game of rugby with some real backline play, the type of game we know both teams can deliver.
