So I got myself the new and improved iPad 2!
I am a huge android evangelist, spreading the word of droid across all nations. I seem to be fighting a battle with apple fanbois on a daily basis, with words like “… but can you play DivX movies, can you transfer files without some stupid management software…” The power of apple is in brilliantly well built products and even more stellar marketing. They are able to kind of brain wash consumers into worshiping their products.
I remember my first run in with apple marketing; it was a 50 cent video, PIMP. At the beginning of the music video, 50 is sitting on a bed and selecting a track on his, now prehistoric black and white screen wielding, generation 1 iPod. I instantly knew it was the iPod with its all white body that big round control wheel and the matching white earphones. I remember sitting and thinking wow 50cent got game, or was it got gadget.

See the guys at apple had realized that not only did their products look so remarkably unique and identifiable, but they also look very stylish and appealing onscreen. Now a days I see iPad’s mac books and millions of iPhone’s on TV and in movies.

So John and Jane Public did not stand a chance, but what about me? I am a fairly well read man, with tech savvy and I am a programmer and geek. How did I fall into this trap of getting a technological inferior device. Don’t get me wrong it is amazing, looks great and has the insides to match; dual core processor amazing graphics, but i do feel that there are better options out there on the android platform. Well I don’t really know, I was in a trance, one moment I was looking at it and the next moment I had one in my hands! What I can say is, I am not regretting it one bit. It looks so cool with its metal body and brilliant screen, there are so many high quality apps out there.
I still adore my Samsung galaxy S running android, it will just have to live with the fact that it has a new friend in the iPad2.
