The great 2.5/2.6 downgrader was initially quite a tedious task to complete full of stress and worry! But these days it is as easy as, downloading an installation exe and connecting your psp to pc, and executing and running the application!

A working libtiff exploit has been discovered, by NOPx86. It seams to be an adaption of the old libtiff exploit on older psp’s. Fanjita said that this is working and usable, further testing is needed to determine compatibility of firmwares and decent stable proof of concept is also in the pipeline.
This will give homebrew hope to all the non 1.50 psp owners! especially the TA-082 board owners!
This is the single biggest post I have made since starting this site! All people who have v2.5 or 2.6 psp ( not TA-82 pcb types!) will be able to “downgrade” their psp’s to version 1.5!! this is massive news!
Ok this is great news! Users of the psp with versions 2.5 and 2.6 of the firmware, will be able to use all the apps that require kernel access, this means IR, usb etc!! Last night whilst browsing ps2dev forums I came across the thread posted by hitchhikr! Ok so what does this mean? Well this is only proof of concept code, so it only demonstrates the capabilities. Developers will now be able to use it in their apps, to allow 2.5/2.6 users to use kernel mode. Fanjita is busy working with hitchhikr and his team to incorporate it with current 2.5/2.6 gta exploit homebrew!

The custom bios used on the Undiluted platinum mod chip! check out how this baby preforms! I only wish they bring down the price of the mod chip! FYI you need the UP mod chip to run any custom firmware!

The PSP will soon have it’s own mod chip! This will basically allow users to load up custom firmware or more importantly any previous versions of the PSP firmware! The Undiluted Platinum will be a flash replacement system that will have 32Mb of on board NAND flash memory. This will shoot open the entire home brew scene for the PSP, allowing users to run home brew and unsigned EBOOT’s without too much troubles!
