Twitter, tweeting on to the scene!

I discovered twitter awhile back and I must say it is growing on me. I know I am behind, twitter has been around for awhile! Twitter is as, Nicholas Carr, Author and Technologist put it; “…the telegraph system of Web 2.0.” and it truly is! Think of facebook’s, is “…” on your profile, you know that place where you put in what you are doing and other people see stuff like “John is planning world domination” or “Sara is doing homework”. Twitter can be described as, facebook minus everything except those little “is messages” and people love it!

Wii Fit + Google earth = Interactive Flight sim!!!

The Wii Fit, was launched recently. It is the latest offering in the Wii range from Nintendo. The fit adds a new control device to the Wii platform in the form of a balance board, which looks like a large bathroom scale. You stand on it and control movement by moving your body. Really fun and quite a workout. Ever Wondered what would happen if you could combine this with a pc and control applications using it, well wonder no more. Fly around the earth using the Wii fit board and Google Earth!!

Samsung SyncMaster 2243BWX Wide Screen LCD.

I bought myself a new LCD to replace the LG 20″ I had for about a month. I only used it for 10days… There was a problem with the backlight driver on the LG, upon doing some further research I discovered it was a common problem with that specific model. The LG I had was a 204WT-BF 20.1″ Wide. I had it credited and opted for something different, in fact I got a totally different brand. I decided to go for the 22″ Samsung SyncMaster 2243BWX Wide Screen LCD.

Web 2.0 as you may or may not, know is the latest buzz word on the Interweb, well actually it is getting quite old now, but nevertheless it still is all the rage, think facebook, think twitter think well this very blog! So web2.0 is, from the wikipedia: “enhance creativity, information sharing, and, most notably, collaboration among users”. I have started to read some stuff by Tim O’Reilly and it is just, excellent because Tim has a unique and very expert view on everything tech and all the latest trends… Anyway back to the point, I recently read an article about web2.0 written by Tim in 2005 and it was very good and thought provoking, it made me think, what if I took the game industry and made the same web1.0 VS web2.0 comparison? Napster, selling DRM Free Mp3’s.

Napster, the notorious file sharing P2P, application from the early 00’s has gone legit for some time now, but now, they are offering customers, music which is free form all Digital Rights or copy protection. They also claim to hold the largest collection of DRM free music in their catalogue.
